Conducts Housing Forum, Presents Affordable Housing
Grants
Congressman
Phil English (PA-3) and officials of the FHLBank of
Pittsburgh, PNC Bank, PHFA and the City of Erie honored
two affordable housing projects developed by Housing
and Neighborhood Development Service (HANDS) of Erie,
Pennsylvania. The January 5th event, held on the campus
of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, included the
formal presentation of two grants totaling $419,000
from the FHLBank of Pittsburgh through its member partner,
PNC Bank.
The
projects, Edinboro Family Homes and Erie Mid-Town Homes
Phase III will provide 29 new construction, single-family
homes for low-and very-low-income, first-time homebuyers
in Edinboro Borough and three single-family homes for
moderate-income, first-time homebuyers in Erie's mid-city
neighborhood, respectively.
After
the formal presentation, more than 50 affordable housing
advocates, bankers, builders, REALTORS®, elected
representatives and officials of Edinboro University
joined Congressman English in a townhall discussion
on affordable housing.
