CONGRESSMAN FATTAH, HOME LOAN BANK TO ANNOUNCE
$2.8 MILLION IN GRANTS FOR TEN AREA AFFORDABLE HOUSING
PROJECTS
PHILADELPHIA, PA, November 10, 2005 U.S.
Rep. Chaka Fattah
(PA-2) will be the keynote speaker next Monday when
the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank) announces
$2.8 million in grants for the construction or rehabilitation
of affordable housing serving low-income, very-low-income
and disabled individuals and families.
The announcement will take place Monday, November
14, at 11 a.m. at the Honickman Learning Center and
Comcast Technology Labs, 1936 North Judson Street.
The Center is a program of Project H.O.M.E. The event
is expected to conclude at noon.
Featured speakers include Congressman Fattah and Sister
Mary Scullion, co-founder and executive director of
Project H.O.M.E. Representatives of nearly a dozen affordable
housing advocacy groups and other community partners
will also attend.
Parking and Directions:
Limited off-street parking will be available at the
Honickman Learning Center, 1936 North Judson Street,
215-235-2900.
Additional parking is available within one block of
the center at the following locations:
- On-street parking in the 1900 block of North Judson
Street
- Off-street parking at Rowan Homes, 1900 North Judson
Street
- On-street parking in the 2300 block of West Berks
From Center City
Take 16th Street going north, past Arch Street, Spring
Garden Street and Fairmount Avenue. Turn left at Ridge
Avenue. Follow Ridge for about one mile. Cross over
Girard Avenue. Turn right onto 23rd Street. After two
blocks, you will pass the St. Elizabeth's rectory on
your right. Drive one more block and make a left onto
Norris Street; then make another left onto Judson Street.
From I-76 going East
Take I-76 East and follow signs to I-676. Immediately
after you enter
I-676, take the first exit to your right (23rd Street
exit). At the bottom of the exit, turn left onto 22nd
Street. Cross over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and
Spring Garden Street. Turn right onto Fairmount Avenue.
After six blocks, turn left onto 16th Street. Turn left
onto Ridge Avenue. Follow Ridge for about one mile,
then cross over Girard Avenue. Turn right onto 23rd
Street. After two blocks, you will pass the St. Elizabeth's
rectory on your right. Drive one more block and make
a left onto Norris Street; then make another left onto
Judson Street.
From I-95 Southbound
Take I-95 toward Philadelphia and follow signs to I-676
- Center City. Take the first exit off I-676 (Broad
Street exit). Cross over Broad Street and go two blocks
until you get to 16th Street. Turn right and follow
16th Street for several blocks, crossing Spring Garden
Street and Fairmount Avenue. About two blocks past Fairmount,
you will see Ridge Avenue at the light. Turn left. Follow
Ridge for about one mile, crossing Girard Avenue. Turn
right onto 23rd Street. After two blocks, you will pass
the St. Elizabeth's rectory on your right. Drive one
more block and make a left onto Norris Street; then
make another left onto Judson Street.
