Altmire, Doyle, Onorato to announce nearly $3 million in housing grants: Funding for projects serving low-income and special needs individuals; Grants will impact neighborhoods across Allegheny and Beaver counties
PITTSBURGH, PA, April 25, 2007 - U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire (PA-4), U.S. Rep.Mike Doyle (PA-14) and Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato will announce nearly $3 million in grants for current and future affordable housing projects across Greater Pittsburgh and vicinity Monday, April 30 at 10:30 a.m. at the Allegheny County Courthouse, 436 Grant Street Downtown. The announcement will occur in the common area adjacent to Room 101, the County Executive’s Office.
Funding will be announced for hundreds of affordable housing units within 13 projects meeting the needs of the homeless, low-income individuals, fathers with chemical addictions, single mothers, the mentally and physically disabled and the religious community.
Speakers will include Congressmen Altmire and Doyle, County Executive Onorato and Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh President & CEO John R. Price as well as a representative of one of the funded projects. Affordable housing developers and nonprofit sponsors will also attend.
