Fulton Bank Receives 'Pillars of the Community' Award:
Cited for Outstanding Work in Community Revitalization

HARRISBURG, PA, June 28, 2007 - Fulton Bank today was honored as one of only four financial institutions across Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia to receive the coveted Pillars of the Community Award in recognition of the bank’s outstanding work in the area of community revitalization.

Fulton Bank received the award for channeling $5 million in Affordable Housing Program grants to 26 area projects benefiting low-income renters and homebuyers, nearly $8 million to a variety of community improvement programs through the Community Lending Program, and for distributing more than $200,000 to 46 first-time homebuyers of modest means to help them cover down payment and closing costs through the First Front Door program.

Demonstrating innovation, and in partnership with the City of Reading, one of Fulton Bank’s initiatives combines at-cost funding from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh’s Community Lending Program with U.S. SBA financing in a way that extends below-market, fixed-rate commercial loans with terms of up to 20 years to qualified small businesses in the city.

“The people of Fulton Bank are committed to community,” said John Bendel, director, Community Investment at FHLBank, a congressionally-chartered wholesale bank that partners with community financial institutions. “Fulton Bank continues to deliver much-needed financing to businesses, homeowners and community groups all across its marketplace.”

In recognition of Fulton Bank’s receipt of the Pillars award, FHLBank is making a $1,000 charitable contribution to the Lancaster Housing Opportunity Partnership.

Fulton Bank operates more than 80 offices in Pennsylvania and serves individual and business customers in Berks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Montgomery and York counties.
