First National Bank of Pennsylvania Earns Award for Service Excellence:
FNB of PA’s Community Investment Saluted by Industry Peers

Ligonier, PA, June 10, 2008 -First National Bank of Pennsylvania was honored before its industry peers today for its exceptional record of community investment and service.

At a gathering of scores of Pennsylvania banking executives hosted by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank), First National Bank of Pennsylvania was presented with the Pillars of the Community Award, bestowed annually upon only three banks across Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. FHLBank singles out these banks for their extraordinary efforts to create affordable housing for lower-income families, develop small business, promote community stability and revitalize neighborhoods.

With roots that go back almost 150 years, FNB of PA boasts more than 150 locations in Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio. In 2007, FNB saw completion of two affordable housing projects, one featuring apartments for very-low-income single-parent families in Johnstown, the other a Habitat home in Beaver Falls. Additionally, FNB has created the Family Home Ownership Program, which assists qualified first-time homebuyers with grants of up to $5,000 that cover down payments and closing costs. Last year, FNB helped 19 families realize their dream of homeownership. Similarly, FNB’s Family Home Improvement Rehabilitation Program provides financing for first-time homebuyers who fix up their homes.

A widening commitment

FNB of PA has long maintained a dedication to other needs of the communities it serves. In 2007, FNB contributed nearly $12 million for projects specifically aimed at stabilizing communities and neighborhoods. Last year, FNB contributed to the Shenango Valley Initiative, which offered a home buying seminar to local residents. And FNB is an annual contributor to Southwest Gardens, a community improvement organization in Farrell, Pennsylvania.

FNB of PA has cultivated a noteworthy culture of giving and involvement. Bank employees volunteer for local nonprofits, extending services and raising dollars area-wide. The FNB management team and directors volunteer on the boards of nonprofits and associations in areas the bank serves.

“We are honored to have First National Bank of Pennsylvania among our owner-members,” said John R. Price, president and chief executive officer of FHLBank Pittsburgh, a congressionally chartered wholesale bank. “FNB’s passionate dedication to community shines through all that it does and makes a significant difference to the people of Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio.”
