When we at FHLBank Pittsburgh say, “We Mean Business,” we really do mean it. As the theme of our 2008 Regional Conferences, it aptly describes our commitment to you, our customers, as we strive to help you meet your business goals with a steady stream of liquidity and beneficial products and services.

At this year’s Regionals, FHLBank President & CEO John Price will be on hand to briefly discuss the state of the bank. Member Services Group Director Craig Howie will discuss collateral issues that affect your FHLBank business. John Bendel, Director of Community Investment, will present the 2008 Pillars of the Community Awards. Director of Marketing Craig Jordan hosts the day's program.

Guest Luminaries Offer Business Strategies
Also this year, we’re expanding our circle of expertise to include prominent guest speakers on critical business strategies. Chris Low, Chief Economist at FTN Financial Capital Markets, will present an “Economic Overview” on the current state of banking and the capital markets. Chris’s forecasts and commentaries enjoy a large international following. He’s widely quoted in the business press and is a regular on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and radio programs, including NPR’s Marketplace. He frequently writes and delivers BBC radio’s U.S. business news.

Next, Steve Twersky, Senior Vice President at FTN Financial Capital Markets, will present “Asset/Liability Management Strategies.” Steve joined FTN Financial in 1984 after working at a “big-eight” public accounting firm. He’s responsible for managing Portfolio Strategies in the Capital Markets Group of FTN with respect to the depository customer base. He assists clients with all aspects of investment portfolio and balance sheet management including regulatory, tax and accounting issues.

Fun and Camaraderie Abound
It's sure to be an informative day for banks of all asset sizes. But it wouldn’t be the Regional Conferences without a tasty lunch and a round of golf, followed by a cocktail reception and golf awards ceremony – all with an eye toward fun and camaraderie.

If you’ve registered, you should already have received a confirmation (confirmations for the SW PA Regional at Laurel Valley will go out any day now). If you haven’t yet registered, there may still be a few seats available (golf at the SW PA Regional is now closed). To check seating availability, go to www.fhlb-pgh.com and look for the red “2008 Regional Conferences” button on the right side of the page.
