Home4Good helps those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by channeling dollars to local service organizations that know how to help. Funding is offered annually by FHLBank Pittsburgh (FHLBank) and the Delaware State Housing Authority, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund. Continuums of Care and service organizations serving the homeless partner with FHLBank members to apply for Home4Good grants during the funding round. Awards are announced in December.
FHLBank members benefit from Home4Good participation in a variety of ways.
In 2025, FHLBank and our three Home4Good state housing finance agency partners awarded $8.4 million in Home4Good funds to projects in Delaware, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In Delaware, funds are awarded through the Delaware State Housing Authority (DSHA). Service organizations can reach out to DSHA directly or review the Notice of Funding Availability on the DSHA website for further application information. In Pennsylvania and West Virginia, there is no public Request for Proposal (RFP) application process. Instead, funding was offered in "block grant" style with our partners, the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) and the West Virginia Housing Development Fund (WVHDF). Service organizations are encouraged to reach out to their local Continuum of Care.
FHLBank members can participate in 2026 by submitting a member support form to indicate their support for projects in their area. FHLBank will reach out to members during the Aug. 1 to Sept. 30 timeframe. Awards will be announced in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Home4Good allowed us to sustain the Direct Assistance Fund and capacity building training resources for our Conferences. Our goal for this fund is to address emergency needs, like housing and food insecurity, and to provide a path to sustainable solutions for our neighbors in need.”
